Vontobel and China Construction Bank make the world's largest infrastructure and trade project – China's new Silk Road – investable

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) represents the largest infrastructure and trade project in the world, covering some 119 countries and affecting around 65% of the world's population. Some 7,000 infrastructure projects are currently planned up to 2050. The realization of the BRI requires large investments from various sources of capital. China has already signed cooperation agreements with over 105 countries and provides liquid funds for project financing through its own state banks and funds.

As a globally active financial expert, Vontobel is launching tracker certificates on the “Vontobel Belt and Road Index, advised by CCBIAM”, for both private and institutional investors. The in-depth knowledge of the Chinese government's initiative and outstanding investment capabilities with local expertise enable CCBIAM to identify leading companies in various industries that could benefit from investment and stimulus in the context of the BRI. The certificate also gives investors indirect access to A-shares, which are traded in renminbi and listed on the Shanghai or Shenzhen stock exchange.
