US interest rate tightening – what next?
The American economy has grown much more strongly than the European economy. Due to the Fed's interest rate hike in the US, American bonds have become much more attractive than comparable securities in Europe. In order for the ECB and the SNB to follow suit, Europe first needs a growth spurt, which is certainly not to be expected for 6-9 months.
