With its wide range of actively managed investment solutions and around 25 years of experience, Vontobel is one of the pioneers of sustainable investing in Switzerland. This has been confirmed once again by its PRI score. In the first half of 2020, Vontobel’s assets under management that are man¬aged according to sustainability criteria grew from CHF 30 billion (as of December 31, 2019) to over CHF 32 billion (as of June 30, 2020).
“We are convinced that the demand for sustainable investment solutions will continue to rise – driven in part by the EU’s ‘Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth’ and various private sector initiatives. As a globally active investment manager, we believe that we have a responsibility to play an active role in this sustainable transformation of the economy and society,” stated Axel Schwarzer, Head Vontobel Asset Management.
Vontobel’s sustainable investment solutions are focused on companies and industries that will emerge as winners in the transition to a more sustainable economy. Equally, the investment manager observes the highest environmental and sustainability standards when conducting its own operations.
The PRI assesses signatories based on their implementation of the six Principles for Responsible Investment:
- We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
- We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
- We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
- We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
- We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
- We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
