Vontobel has hired two experts, Alan Zlatar and Arpad Pongracz, to further strengthen its multi-asset-class investment unit. Alan Zlatar takes up the position of Deputy Head of Group Investment Strategy and Head Multi Asset Class Investments. Arpad Pongracz assumes responsibility for the newly-formed unit Outcome Driven Investments. The appointments will enhance Vontobel's established offering of balanced mandates, headed by René Exenberger.

Alan Zlatar, a very experienced professional with a focus on multi-asset-class investing, will oversee the management of the important strategy products of Vontobel Asset Management's cooperation partners. Before joining Vontobel, Alan Zlatar was Head of Portfolio Management at Deutsche Bank Wealth Management Zurich and Chief Investment Officer at Rued Blass.

Arpad Pongracz, Head of the newly-formed Outcome Driven Investments (ODI) unit, will be responsible for ODI solutions – enhanced multi-asset-class products aiming to maximise the return potential of a portfolio according to the clients' investment risk and cash flow targets. Before joining Vontobel, Arpad Pongracz was Head of Global Balanced Solutions at Union Bancaire Privée and Head of Total Return Direct Strategies at Credit Suisse Asset Management. Prior to that, he worked as a co-manager for Soros Fund Management's Quantum Fund.

Thus, our established balanced mandates for pension funds, a group of products headed by René Exenberger, will benefit from the additional expertise.

Vontobel Chief Strategist Christophe Bernard commented: "With Alan Zlatar and Arpad Pongracz, we have increased our expertise in the key area of multi-asset-class investing, a move which will benefit our private and institutional clients." He also said: "The creation of the Outcome Driven Investments unit is a reaction to client calls for investment solutions that better reflect liability and risk specifications."
