Follow a focused approach, instead of setting up too many works in progress all at once: This is the only way Europe can close the gap with the USA or China, says former Federal Councillor Schneider-Ammann. He sees this focus above all fixed on the field of digital education. Young people need to be able to approach digital technologies without anxieties, he said. They need to grow up with them. About Johann Schneider-Ammann
From 2010 to 2018, Johann Schneider-Ammann served as Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs. In 2016 he was elected Federal President. An electrical engineering graduate, he held numerous board appointments before his time as a politician, mainly in the engineering, electrical and metal industries, whose association "Swissmem" he presided over for a decade.
